The masters of micro-adventures

Portrait Ideas:

Pauline Boinard, one of the few female rafting guides in the region

Pauline, originally from the Bordeaux region, decided to take a year out after getting her degree in interior design (still her job in the winter); it would be her year of revelation. It was in America that she “lived” the river for the first time through micro-adventures of 3 to 5 days in complete autonomy. It was a love at first sight that grew stronger throughout her travels: “The river has completely changed my way of seeing the world, it fascinates me and I want to pass on my sense of wonder”. When she came back to France, Pauline contacted Essaonia, trained and became a guide. At only 27, she created a mini-expedition on the river Isère: two days of rafting, interspersed with sessions of yoga and fly fishing. An experience of “complete disconnection” where you feel your pulse gradually falling into rhythm with the river.

Guillaume Brun, the micro-adventure ambassador

Guillaume, a former soldier from the élite mountain infantry turned mountain guide, has certainly not lost his taste for the great outdoors! To pass on his savoir-faire and his love of nature, he creates re-energising mountain escapades that are one of a kind in the region. One-day sessions of “immersion in the wild” (the name says it all) or with the option of an overnight bivouac. You learn how to find your way, observe the fauna, recognize edible plants (which you cook in the evening!), filter water from the stream to drink and how to use a fire stone. Guillaume is also the creator of the “Lake-bivouac” [Lien vers idée séjour], where a night under the stars by a mountain lake is the reward for two days of hiking…
