CP - La Plagne confirms its interest in rugby with 3 new partnerships with Top 14 and Pro D2 teams

Five years after the creation of its natural grass stadium at an altitude of 2,050 m, La Plagne is stepping up its hosting of prestigious rugby teams. This year, 2026, marks another milestone with the signing of three new partnerships with the TOP 14 teams ASM Clermont Auvergne and Castres Olympique, and the Pro D2 team Oyonnax Rugby.

In addition to the common denominator of the teams' oxygenation and cohesion courses at the start of the season, La Plagne has forged links with them throughout the year. Each partnership has its own characteristics in the form of exchanges, whether it be visibility for the Red Cap in the teams' stadiums, sponsorship of matches/tournaments, or one-off actions.

A lawn that's anything but cursed

Like a precious emerald, the stadium boasts assets that are rare enough, such as its altitude and natural grass.
This facility is a driving force in our sporting and diversification strategies. As well as attracting teams, it helps to raise the profile of the stadium by appealing to a different target audience. Team supporters are the best examples of this, as some of them book their holidays to follow their favourite players, so they can experience special moments outside the usual environment. From the natural bleachers on the grassy slopes, they can watch training sessions open to the public with a privileged view of the stadium, as close as possible to the action. This is followed by a signing session on the pitch.
As well as the hardcore training sessions in the stadium, the players can also take advantage of a variety of activities at altitudes between 650 and 3,250 metres to get away from their training routine, including rafting on the Isère or climbing to the top of the resort at 3,000 metres. A setting that is particularly beneficial for athletes' bodies.

Marketing, exchanges and organisation are handled by a dedicated department of three people at the La Plagne Tourist Office.
