- 1970 - 1990: gradual linking of all 11 sites of La Plagne that share the ski area: Aime 2000 (1970), Champagny-en-Vanoise (1971), Plagne Villages and Montchavin – Les Coches (1972), Plagne Bellecôte (1974), Montalbert (1980), Belle Plagne (1981), Plagne 1800 (1982), Plagne Soleil (1990)

- 1973: closing of the silver-lead mines operated by the Peñarroya mining company. The main vein was first mined in 1810.

- 1990: creation of the “Trall de Légende”, the 6000D. The pioneering format of this trail running race now covers 69 km and 3,400 m elevation gain. The event traditionally takes place over the last weekend of July and now proposes 7 races, including 2 for children.

- 1992: La Plagne’s Olympic bobsleigh track (the only one in France) hosted the Albertville Olympic event.

- 1984, 1987, 1995 and 2002: La Plagne hosted a stage of the Tour de France finishing in Plagne Centre, after a climb of 21 hairpin bends.

- 2003: creation of the Paradiski connected area, linked by the Vanoise Express cable car.

A page was turned at the end of April with the dismantling of Bellecôte gondola and all the infrastructure in the permafrost zone. In December, the new Les Glaciers gondola will open with an arrival station anchored to the rock. Skiers and non-skiers will discover a new panoramic area, “Live 3000”, 3,080 m above sea level.
