An unconventional, multi-stakeholder governance structure
The destination straddles three municipalities (Aime-la-Plagne, La Plagne Tarentaise and Champagny-en-Vanoise), and is managed by the Syndicat Intercommunal de la Grande Plagne, established when the resort was founded in the early 1960s, which specialises in the public administration of the area’s economic activities (ski area, water, infrastructure, etc.).

- 1,008 years: the age of the Romanesque basilica in Aime.
